Kim Sharma and Yuvraj Singh split together
Rumor has it that Yuvraj Singh and Kim Sharma are coming back together. But according to sources, they are heading in opposite directions.
Kim is likely dating Spanish singer Carlos Marin. Marin is a lead vocalist of the pop band Il Divo.
Recently, Kim has been shopping a lot of designer stuff, and invitations to their union have already been sent out to friends verbally. Kim's friends were surprised that she might be moving to Spain.
Yuvi, on the other hand, has been hanging out with Jennifer Kotwal. Jennifer started out as a television actress in Just Mohabbat. Then she did small roles in movies like Yaadien with Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. Then she acted in a blockbuster movie Jogi which is in Kannada in a lead role opposite Shivaraj Kumar.
She was also seen as Abhishek Bachchan's sister in Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai and is to star as lead actress in Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekkh Mudh Mudh Ke.
Jennifer and Yuvi were recently spotted at a nightspot in Mumbai.

Google takes on Yahoo, Amazon and Microsoft
Google Books is the revolutionary new platform that will let you read books online. Not only that, it will let you search through pages of the book just like you search on Google. The search giant's settlement with publishers and authors that give them the right to sell millions of books online is being opposed by the Open Book Alliance. Amazon, Yahoo and Microsoft have also joined this alliance.
The settlement which was reached last October between Google, The Association of American Publishers and The Authors Guild, would allow Google to display portions of books online when the users search, and sell digital copies of those books.
Google Books had cataloged over 1 million public domain books, the copyrights of which had expired. The authors and publishers associations sued the tech giant in 2005 for copyright infringement over its plans to scan and copy millions of books, some of which were still under copyright. A settlement was thus reached that would give publishers and authors $45 million.
A formal announcement from the Open Book Alliance is expected next week.

Walk the Moon with Michael Jackson
Sony today said that it will release "Michael Jackson : This Is It" two days earlier than its original release date. Its a film that contains behind-the-scenes and rehearsal footage shot before his London comeback concerts. The studio is putting the tickets up for sale a month before its release!
For the first time, fans will be able to see MJ, the great artist, the king of pop, at work, at his raw, original best. It would draw up more than 100 hours of activity at the studio during MJ's preparation of his greatest comeback tour. He was to perform 50 different shows at the London O2 Arena starting July.
Sony could have made good tactical sense by rescheduling the release, as it covers an American festival Halloween in the weekend.

Damon, Damon where are you?
I was browsing through celebrity profiles on Twitter. I added Leonardo Di Caprio, Jack Nicholson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan. But I could not find the real profile of Matt Damon. Guess what? Matt has Twittophobia!! He's scared of getting on the Twitter network because he is scared of being bombarded by strange messages from his fans. Matt, you need a social networking consultant. Can I call you and help you be at ease with Twitter? You will only get messages from the people you follow on Twitter. Thats why so many celebrities are signing up.
If you need tips on identifying real celebrities on Twitter, here are some. Look for "Valebrity.com" on the celebrity's profile or go to valebrity.com and search for your celebrity. If they are not registered with valebrity, the genuine source of validating celebrities, then use your own wisdom to spot the real one.

Bhuvan - India's own Google Earth and more
The Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) has launched Bhuvan. This is a satellite mapping tool which allows users to zoom into geographical locations in India, just like Google Earth. It provides high-resolution satellite images for viewing. It goes one step further providing weather information, administrative boundaries, drought map, population and others.
Initial reviews appearing online are bashing Bhuvan for its lack of readiness. Its called a beta version but its not even a pre-alpha. Its only available on IE6 and above and needs an 11MB plugin to be downloaded. The system hangs often while using the plugin. High resolution images are not available and the site is often down due to excessive hits.
I think ISRO should learn from this experience and shape this application based on user feedback and get a hosting server that can handle traffic!
Still a commendable effort from the young Indian scientists.

Looking for a job? Try LinkedIn
LinkedIn.com is a fast-growing professional business networking site. More and more recruiters have started using LinkedIn as a tool to find suitable candidates for jobs. In fact, jobs have started to appear that are exclusive to the LinkedIn network and cannot be found anywhere else. There are multiple reasons for this. Firstly, companies dont want to get lost in or have to dig through a mountain of resumes. So they post in a more targeted way to cut down on the resume flood. LinkedIn also has features like referrals and recommendations. Referrals allow you to give professional references from your current job to the job that you are applying to. Recommendations are endorsements you can recieve from your ex-employer or colleague. These factors provide more information to the recruiter hands-on than any other system of recruiting would.
Some of the top management staff at various companies in Seattle are already using LinkedIn as the preferred method of recruiting. The Product Development Director of Serena scanned LinkedIn for Directors of Web Development. He looked at people who have added references to these Directors. He found a few such people who were web developers, which is what he was looking for. He called up the Directors who had references from web developers and asked them about these individual contributors. He went on to add these Directors to his professional network on LinkedIn.

Fuper Duper Hit
I went into the movie theatre with high expectations. I was not disappointed. Kaminey has all the ingredients of a Fuper Duper Hit. From intimate kissing scenes between Shahid and Priyanka to funny dialogues to "Dhan Te Nan" song to great action sequences. Total paifa vafool!
The way Shahid speaks tutla "F" instead of "S" and the way he carries that off is extraordinary. This creates fun and humor in otherwise ordinary dialogue. The climax action scenes are right out of a hollywood movie.
What are you waiting for? Get into the multiplex and watch this movie now!

Shahrukh Khan detained at Newark Airport in US
Shahrukh Khan, the King of Bollywood and the heartthrob of audiences worldwide, was detained for questioning at the Newark Airport in Newark, United States. If sources are to be believed, he was detained because he has a muslim lastname "Khan".
I am not sure what the Immigration officials were thinking, but to detain a person who is labeled as one of the 50 most influential persons in the world, by a magazine published in the United States is definitely a mistake.
What if Tom Cruise was to visit India, and he would be questioned in the same way by an Indian Immigration Official? Not only would it make Americans angry, but Indian fans would be really unhappy as well.
"I was really taken aback," Khan told CNN-IBN television station, and he has every right to be. If any star or entertainer of the stature of Shahrukh Khan is detained and questioned for hours with the silly logic of a muslim name, people who hired these officials need to look at the mistakes they made.

A new start on an auspicious day
Wish you all a Happy Independence Day. I start this blog with great enthusiasm, hoping that I will be able to inspire and influence readers in a positive way. 62 years ago, on the same day, our great leaders and freedom fighters brought us a great gift, our Independence. Mahatma Gandhi was the most instrumental in uniting us, irrespective of caste, region or religion. The fact that Indians were way behind the British in terms of armor and firepower is true. There is no way that violence could have helped us in overpowering them. Instead, the path that Mahatma chose brought consensus among Indians and forced the British to put their weapons down.
